What does a first look- look like? On the day of your wedding, I want you to know what to expect so that everything feels natural and you can be IN the moment. If you've chosen a first look, you may be wondering what it will look or feel like. Let me give you a step by step walkthrough of the anatomy of a first look. We help prepare you so that your first look is intimate, natural and heartfelt.
1. We take a few minutes to scout for a beautiful location for your first look. We look for somewhere that is evenly lit, private, and will let your love shine.
You will spend the rest of the day surrounded by friends and family, so if you can, make the first look just between the two of you. Your friends and family can wait in the venue and we'll start bringing them out when we're ready for family formals and bridal party.
2. Once we have one of you set up, we bring the other out. Once you are about 30 feet away, it's go time! If someone is helping you, this is when they will hug you and head back to the venue.
3. There are a few options on how to see each other for the first time.
a. gently reach out and take their hand
b. gently call their name
c. gently tap their shoulder
d. Whatever feels right to you!
We want you to feel natural, so we leave this decision up to you!
We stay back with long lenses and photograph you! We don't pose this part at all. We just let you two soak in. So go ahead, enjoy this time together! Hug, Kiss, talk about what's to come. Take your time and enjoy! We schedule at least 10 minutes for the first look, so that you two can spend as much time as you want at the first look. And if it runs over the 10 minutes, we don't mind! We are just excited that you are enjoying this time on your wedding day!
I hope this helps as you start to plan out your big day. If you want more information about why couple's choose a first look click here!
