We started a vegetable garden!

“we might think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it's our garden that is really nurturing us”

We planted a vegetable garden! I am so excited to garden with Lucy, some of my fondest memories from childhood are eating tomatoes right off the vine in my grandmom's vegetable garden and nipping a bit of the overgrown asparagus my mom grew in ours. And the smell of the mint! I can't wait to choose a few herbs to get into the ground. 

Lucy has been patiently asking every single day for two weeks if we can plant "her tomatoes" from Aunt Patty and on Saturday, I finally said yes. She had a blast and wants to check on them constantly. This week, we will find a farm store and bring home some additional seedlings to put in the soil. The days have been so warm, but the nights still cold so I sneak out and tuck our vegetables in, carefully placing large plastic buckets over each one.

I am not quite sure what we will choose to grow in addition to tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, spinach and swiss chard but whatever it is, Lucy is going to be overjoyed. What do you think we should plant, drop a comment below to help us choose!
