Indoor Date Night Ideas: Prom Night

“And if the music is good, you dance”

Yesterday, I posted a shot of some of my favorite dancing shoes on Instagram. I love photographing all details, but, I have to admit, I am a total sucker for glitter and bows and those shoes had both. That post got me thinking about how you could don some dancing shoes in your living room for an indoor date night! And so, the next edition of Indoor Date Night Ideas was born. Get ready to shimmy and shake to some dance music and clutch and sway to some slow songs because we're going back to high school with this week's edition of Indoor Date Night Ideas. The theme this week? PROM! Yes, you heard me right...PROM. And you can't have prom without a good theme.

Let's kick start the fun with: A Winter Wonderland

silver plates, dazzling snowflakes, and hanging paper lanterns are sure to impress. Go all out by dressing the part with a navy gown fit for a snow queen or a navy vest and blizzard bowtie. Last but not least, snowflake cookies to make the night even sweeter!

Next up: Under the Sea

Iridescent mermaid plates, a shimmery backdrop, geode cookies in ocean colors, a turquoise gown, a seersucker suit jacket and shell covered bowtie are sure to make the party pop!

Under the Stars

Plan the perfect night under the stars with a golden garland, star covered plates, golden lanterns and star dotted macarons. Don't forget a sparkly gown or space themed suspenders and bowtie. Your party will be (dare I say it?) out of this world! (I said it!)

And last but not least, a Masquerade theme for a more mysterious evening.

Golden mask cookies are the perfect compliment to a balloon garland (every prom has to have one!), feathers, and plates with golden accents. Don't' forget to wear masks with your lacy black gown or golden jacket.

Hint: While you're getting all dolled up and dancing the night away, don't forget the flowers! Contact a local floral shop, most are providing curbside pickup and delivery during this time of social distancing! Don't run out of music, make a playlist leading up to your date or find a mix one on Spotify. And finally, we're all adults now, so don't forget to spike the punch (preferably with champagne)!

Which prom style are you? I love them all but I'm definitely leaning toward Winter Wonderland as my favorite because I love the frosty vibe. Let me know which style you like (or if I missed one that I should have included!) and if you get dressed up and slow dance, be sure to tag me on IG, I would love to see pictures of your living room prom!
