I can't believe it but we have been staying home to stay safe almost a month here in Connecticut. And you know what? We'll do it for as long as it takes to keep everyone safe. I can't wait to enjoy some wedding celebrations soon. I miss taking candids of happy family, I miss taking snuggly pictures of the couple and I miss the excitement of the dance floor. I miss it all. If you have been following along on IG, you know that Lucy the Warrior and I have been spending a lot of quality time in our yard and a few abandoned trails near our home. She is basically joy personified and fills every day with sunshine, so quarantine life isn't so bad over here. We just want everyone to stay healthy.
While we can't go out to the movies, eat in a crowded restaurant, or go to the mall, we CAN have get a little creative within the walls of our own home. And if you have a balcony or a yard, you can take these date night ideas outside!
So here it is, in honor of simple, joy filled days spent in the sunshine I present to you the fourth edition of Indoor Date Night Ideas: A living room picnic for two.
I am going to start with a super easy way to make this happen. All in one kits that are perfect to roll out and enjoy! No need to think about blankets, glassware, or plates. Simply pack a meal, grab your basket and head to the living room! Both this basket and backpack include place settings for four so when this is all over, you can use them to visit with friends in the park - because you know we're never staying in on a weekend again!
Not an all in one fan? Let's style your dream picnic. What type of food you serve is up to you but I'd love to help you style it! :)
Are you classic ginham? kate spade quirky? or seaside preppy? Let's find out!
A little classic quirk courtesy of Kate Spade. When life gives you lemons, have a picnic! This set is mad for plaid and silly for citrus. A plaid cooler tote, melamine plates in plaid and citrus, lemonade cups, cute cocktail napkins and plaid picnic blanket are sure to brighten your evening!
Seaside Prep is the perfect distraction from the news. Turn off the tv and have a seaside picnic for two (maybe even turn on some ocean waves in the background!). A navy and white tote, an anchor blanket, anchor napkins, brightly colored seaweed high ball glasses and some sea urchin plates to complete this look and ensure you are cool as a seaside breeze.
Which picnic style are you? I love them all but I'm definitely leaning seaside chic with a side of chilled pino grigio. Let me know which style is best and be sure to tag me on IG, I would love to see pictures of your living room picnic!
