I was out of the office this week. I blogged a wedding last Monday and answered emails, but for the most part, this was a designated Lucy week. If you emailed me, you probably received a response at an odd time. 10:30pm on Friday, maybe? Midnight on Tuesday? 5:30am on Thursday, perhaps? In case you haven't heard, our daughter is an absolute rockstar. Lucy is a retinoblastoma warrior and a warrior she truly is. A beautiful soul with an effervescent personality who is rarely seen without a smile. This week was a tough one, but our little warrior is tougher.
Day 116: An overcast day still made for a beautiful walk on the boardwalk.
Day 117: The swing is pretty much her favorite thing in the history of ever right now.
Day 118: A trip to CHOP for an MRI. They take Lucy and we wait, staring out the window at scenery at the distored reality that seems a little too close to the way we all feel.
Day 118 Part 2: We got two thumbs up from Lucy's onco after the MRI, despite the news, we had to stay overnight in Philly for another visit the next morning. Lucy kept us on our toes and laughing as she made herself at home in the hotel room.
Day 119: Lucy had an EUA (exam under anathesia) to see how her eyes are responding to this round of chemo. A little before and after, Lucy always looks like she went ten rounds with Mike Tyson, but somehow, still smiles. She's such an inspiration.
Day 120: Birdy shadows
Day 120 Part 2: It was a gorgeous afternoon.
Day 121: My favorites.
Day 122: The blossoms burst open overnight.
Day 121: So we HAD to take Lucy to see them (she was more interested in the ducks).
Day 122: We took Lucy back to the lake, and this time, there were blossoms scattered on the ground. She spent the afternoon collecting them on a park bench.
Day 122 Part 2: Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will move mountains. Sweet dreams, little warrior.
See you next week!
